I got some new Zome pieces yesterday, so I'm a little excited. My pieces included some green struts. I needed to use the new pieces to finish my 10-zone icosahedron (see photo near top of page.) Zome is a geometrical building system where there are balls (rombicosidodecahedrons, actually) and struts. The struts insert into the faces. The regular parts are color-coded: red inserts into pentagonal faces, yellow inserts into triangular holes, and blue, rectangular.
Green struts insert into pentagonal holes and are a little bent to allow angles that aren't constructible with other zome pieces. Photos of all pieces are included in this blog under the
name "Zome Pieces."

Anyway, the robotics challenge details are coming out tomorrow, so I'm excited. A new FLL (FIRST Lego League) season just started. See more details on the link under the name "Mindstorm Maniacs" in the post "Subjects."
